Military Blog Site - with Robby McRobb Blog

I am Shocked Personally ! ! ! !

I was ashamed at the extremely poor turnout for the Support our Troops rally at the Memorial on Grafton St Charlottetown.

The 32000 persons living in the Charlottetown area managed a grand total of 38 people at the Rally. Of these 38 at least 10 were volunteers from the Military Families assistance centre,as well as a group of Day Care Children with their teachers. So in fact Charlottetown PEI The Birthplace of Confederation residents and workers could not spare a 1/4 hour to support the troops. The DVA bulding across the street from the rally site had one Commissionaire come over. Shame on the DVA workers.

On this Canada Day Weekend I fail to find the Cheeriness that should be the norm. The Island currently has in excess of 80 members currently serving in Afghanistan. I do realise the families and friends support the troops in their own ways, BUT this Rally should have been better supported. Shame on the Islanders who just don't give a damn.

Also on this personal note I find it very improper to have a group called

The War Resister Support Group this group hides away Desserters from the US Forces. The US is our ally and we must support one another, in any action against terrorism. Even a man who I have always held in the highest esteem Dr David Suzuki is a member of this support group. I know that as Canadians we are free to believe what we personally wish , but I do feel strongly that hiding out desserters is wrong.

Enough from me today.

Have a Great Canada Day Weekend and PLEASE do spare a thought and a prayer for our troops and their families who will be apart during this Important Day in the Life of Canada and Canadians.

It is of my opinion, that the reason for the poor turnout is because many feel the same way that i personally do. I am totally opposed to any Canadians even being there, what is it going to take to show those in power that we have no business being there to begin with, lets face the reality here people, Canada has no military, we always have to rely on the U.S to protect us, pretty bad when you consider,we are the second largest country in the world, and we cant even protect ourselves, the bodies are just going to keep piling up,they do not belong there, get them the hell out of there.
