I attach parts of a letter from Master Seaman Eric Payne.
He is a serving member of HMCS Charlottetown despite being an amputee. There are a few of our Vets who have returned home with Limbs missing. Master Seaman Payne attended a joint conference at the Walter Reed Medical facility in the US here is what he found,
Well Robbie I am back, The trip that included members from Canadian Military and Civilian Health Services, DVA and three patients is over. The great news is that we are not far off the types of care that being afforded our American brethren. We need to work on the team approach for patient care between the Military and Civilian agencies but communication is always a problem when you have Geography involved. The gear they have is similar and can be copied. The programs they have for their patients are happening but not on a consistent basis here in Canuckville. That all means we are close and didn't have to take 6 years to get where they are at. Talking with all of the guys and gals on the ward was awesome. The stream of Vets is inspiring and the Celebs and politicians is never ending.
While we were there. Bob Dole, the cover girl for FHM Mag was there. The Indianapolis Colts with the Super bowl trophy not to mention the amputee woman from the Amazing Race. We are in the development stage for a recommendation to DND of our findings. I will keep you updated as it progresses. Have a good one! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS Eric Payne Master Seaman Snr Steward HMCS QUEEN CHARLOTTE Success is never final. Failure is never Fatal. It is the Courage that counts... Winston Churchill Thankyou Eric for the update on the care of our heroic vets.
I am not a big fan of YOU tube but this is one site prepared by a 15 year old girl. That I think you may enjoy over 3 million hits in the first 4 days.
