Military Blog Site - with Robby McRobb Blog

Lets think POSITIVE for a safe return of all our Troops

On the positive side a nice photo on the front page of The Guardian.

Lt George Williams of Charlottetown stooping to pat a dog prior to leaving the FOB. Dogs and soldiers go back a long way in history.

I doubt that there has ever been a conflict that some Canuck has not befriended an animal. Dogs, Mules, Cats and Birds the caring of soldiers for these voiceless casualties is renown.

To pat a dog or rub a kitten takes the stress of combat duty away for a brief moment, a kinship develops between soldier and animal. Not discounting the working dogs of the military sniffing out explosives and the enemy. Dogs are indeed a man's best friend, and many dogs, cats horses at home are missing their master/mistress friend.

So to the soldiers and the animals we send out a prayer for their safe return to loved ones. Don't forget the Yellow Ribbon Campaign here on the Island.

As I surf the net and find your newspaper from small town Newfoundland Charlottetown I can really see how you folks out in the East are really stepping up to the plate and supporting our brave men and women who are fighting the war against the people who are trying to kill us.

In Alberta we always have been big supports of the war and our friends in America. Albertans have never forgot 9/11 and what people like Saddam and Osama did to our nation on that fateful day. I am happy that I can see eastern Canada coming forward and sending troops to help us defend our freedom and our great nation. Thank you Atlantic Canada and thank the government of Newfoundland for being so supportive. God Bless you all out east.
