Words from One of Canada's fine soldiers!!!!

This Blog requires no words from myself. Simply a Thankyou to Cpl.Dave Gionet and the rest of our troops serving in war torn areas of the Globe.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - A Canadian Forces soldier from New Brunswick who has had two close calls in the past several weeks in Afghanistan wants his family to know why he's not coming home. if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object(); window.yzq_d['JJCoBc6.Iqs-']='&U=13bbqf7r0%2fN%3dJJCoBc6.Iqs-%2fC%3d584060.10491200.11117081.6258759%2fD%3dLREC%2fB%3d4499106';

Cpl. Dave Gionet of Lameque, N.B., narrowly missed being injured in two recent attacks, including one that killed two Canadian soldiers this week. Gionet, 34, was in the light armoured vehicle behind the one carrying Master Cpl. Allan Stewart and Trooper Patrick Pentland when it hit a roadside bomb Wednesday. Gionet, who pulled Pentland from the flaming wreckage in a futile bid to save Pentland's life, says his wife and parents want him to come home.

But Gionet says he also has a family in Afghanistan to look after: his fellow Canadian troops.

Gionet, who has a three-year-old daughter at home, says he won't leave the war-torn country until the job he's here to do is finished.

    It is hard for the average person to understand why Cpl.Gionet would want to stay in Afghanistan after what he has
    been through. I think it is pride in his job as a soldier and the work they are doing
    there. The comradeship between all troops is so great that it's like a huge family and everyone looks after each
    other. Till youv'e experienced that bonding you will never understand Cpl.
    Gionet's statement. It was very evident
    yesterday when we saw a soldier saluting
    two of his lost buddies while laying on a
    stretcher. Gotto' love those guys and gals. Pray for our troops and God Bless.
