What should Canada do???

Our six soldiers killed in the line of duty on the Afghan Mission are being re-united with their families at CFB Trenton Ontario. The grieving will last a lifetime for these silent warriors serving at home.. The passing of loved ones at any time is tragic yet life must go on, especially in Afghanistan.

The troops still in Afghanistan have to grieve and also carry on with their mission in the professional manner of all Canadian Servicemen and women.

The big question is what will Canada do now with NATO and their small contributions to this mission. As part of NATO all of the countries should be putting equal amounts of troops into this or any mission. One cannot be a member of NATO and sit on the sidelines or decide that your troops will only be used to protect their own territory. It is time for Canada to demand an increase in manpower and equipment from the remainder of NATO.

Even Australia is increasing their numbers which is a great committment from that nation so far away from NATO. Prime Minister Harper should take note of Prime Minister Howard's actions and go to NATO and demand an increase to help destroy the Taliban thus bringing our troops home sooner rather than later.

Just read the story about Pte MacKenzie and feel those are the war stories. It si about the personal ability of forces personnel to percervier in the face of great challenges both internal and external adn get up and do it day after day. The other lobby will take this as another point of leverage to say, Bring them home, No War! Those statements are from Cowards.
