Good Show CBC Troop Show

I am happy to see that the CBC is still keeping up the tradition of sending entertainers to Operational zones.

The show Stand up in Kandahar was an excellent morale booster for the troops. As any vet will tell you in their day...........who was part of their CBC show?

Well in my day in the 60s we had Gordie Tapp, Tommy Hunter, Marg Osborne to name a few of the entertainers of the day.

These shows are very important to the troops and you could see the smiles and hear the laughter on last nights show.

This is all part of being a Canadian to make jokes of ourselves and have fun. The Taliban no doubt think that this is evil and morally incorrect...Well it is FREEDOM and being able to express ones ideas without fear of oppression.

Which is why we are over in Afghanistan to help an underprivileged, oppressed population regain their dignity and freedom of choice.

It's nice to see on this blog, just how many islanders are connected with the military. It's too bad there was no islanders in the crowd for Stand Up in Kandahar, but I personally know several islanders that were in Afghanistan at the time, they all were likely outside the wire at the time they shot that show. Yesterady I got two calls from different soldiers in Kandahar, everbody is doing well there, morale is high, and they are very proud of what they are doing, and happy to see sites like this showing support.
