I have been predicting unsuccessfully for many months that Canadians would once again find themselves, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The last time Canadians served in the Congo was Sep.1960 till June 1964. Since those days we have had Egypt, Somalia, the Sudan and Rwanda as major contributers to the UN in Africa.
Now it seem that we may soon be tasked for Mali. This story was released late New Years eve day. I am sure that it went mostly unread or heard of with all the ballyhoo of New years Eve.
Here it is in its entirety from the CBC perspective.

For those of you with a tour or more with the UN you may be interested in this bit of history:
Perhaps Canada will once again take the world lead in peacekeeping?
However we must insure that they are well armed and well prepared.
Here is a short Video of the Canadian Army Jacking it up. With Thanks to the "Herbies" Ubique.

On that note I would like to add a PDF sent to me from a concerned Veteran and brother Apprentice Dave Davies.
Thanks Dave.
Please remember our troops and their families all year long.
