What a weekend in Afghanistan !! !

Read with interest the story of the young female member of parliament in Kabul.

She plans to run for president. A brave and foolish enterprise in a country where women are treated as chattels. It would be a Great Day if she wins the election, but the vote rigging, fear and torture that will prevail once again when Karzai goes to the polls in 2014.

I deep heartedly wish her all the best, to the despicable Taliban, crawl back into your holes and let this woman lead Afghans to a better life.

Condemned to die shortly after birth for being a girl, outspoken Afghan member of parliament Fawzia Koofi lived to become a champion of women's rights and is now eyeing the presidency in 2014.

Perhaps there will be enough female Special Forces members trained bu the time she runs for Parliament and the presidency. Female Special Forces that is;

The worst kind of news from Afghanistan was the attacks by the mentally deficient suicide bombers of Afghanistan. They targeted embassies and government buildings.

Heavy explosions, rockets and gunfire rattled Kabul on Sunday as Afghanistan's Taliban launched a "spring offensive" with multiple attacks targeting Western embassies, the NATO force's headquarters and the parliament building.

Meanwhile the Taliban in Pakistan are on a recruiting drive. Breaking over 400 criminals out of jail. So much for Voluntary Service.

As our Canadian Mentors and trainers go about their work in Afghanistan, family members are concerned about their safe return to friends and families.

Please show that you care buy a soldier a coffee, buy a Vet a coffee.
