East Coast departure, West coat Joy

HMCS Charlottetown Slips out of Halifax

Once again our Naval personnel of HMCS Charlottetown, have received orders to proceed forthwith to the Mediterranean. They will replace HMCS Vancouver in this patrol area.

So as one coast waves farewell the other is full of Joy at the impending arrival of their sailors.

The crews of both these ships, are a large segment of Canada's navy and as such they sail to protect us and others from Ships carrying Contraband goods to the Nations of Confict in the region.

YES there is a good possibility that the crew of the Charlottetown may be involved in any actions  that Iran may take. In their sabre rattling with the US about blockading the straights of Hormuz.

A very real and dangerous situation may well develop in the not too distant future.

The Arab Leagues has also asked for UN Intervention in Syria. This too may escalate as Libya did.

A time for caution but also a time to be extremly proud of our Canadian Navy and their professionalism in any actions which may be taken.

Smooth sailing to all who sail the seven seas.

Please remember our Troops and their families.
