Disgraceful act just prior to Remembrance Day. This Veteran Father must be absolutely shocked at the actions of his 22 year old son.
Vet leader's son charged with poppy-box thefts
The son of the president of a London, Ont., veterans group has been charged after several poppy collection boxes were stolen less than a week before Remembrance Day.
London police said Kenneth Maudsley Jr., 22, was picked up on an unrelated warrant related to fraud charges when charges stemming from the poppy-box thefts surfaced.
Further investigation linked him to the Nov. 6 break-in that occurred at the office of the Canadian Corps Association, resulting in the theft of poppy boxes containing an undisclosed amount of money.
A bartender at the Canadian Corps Association, confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the association president, Ken Maudsley Sr.
"There was a shock with everybody," he said.
"It is his son. None of the members are blaming Ken (Sr.) or anything — it's not his fault."London police Const. Ashley Fritz said the younger Maudsley has been charged with one count of break-and-enter and one count of theft.
Whatever do we do with these idiotic fools?? Not only is he a disgrace and a lowlife, he has brought deep shame to his family.
Meanwhile our Minister of Defence will be meeting with his Israeli counterpart to discuss Iran/ Syria. As mentioned before I feel that we will be in either Iran or Syria in the not too distant future. The alarming and threatening words from both Tehran and Damascus against Israel, are worrying to say the least. We burst into Tripoli and spent months bombing and flattening Gadaffi installations. Who is next Iran or Syria?
The military families of Canada, must be keeping a watchful eye on the BBC, CBC, CNN and even Al Jazeera to see what is happening in these countries.
We as Canadians have gone to the aid of Israel many times since 1949 and they are considered our truest allies in the middle east.
So please have a thought for our troops and their families.
Not only Rick Mercer has a RANT this one from an old friend and former apprentice soldier Neil WIlliams
Hi Al, did you see the article, it was in our local paper the Niagara Falls Review, about the two vets? "Canadian vets victims of health care fiasco". The one remaining vet who is able to care for himself and his brother is being sued for medical bills of thousands of dollars. Hope you get a chance to check it out and post a comment. It makes my blood boil to see how the establishment treats those who have served thier country so well. Our government is so good at wasting tax payers dollars and just one example in my mind is the long gun registry. We can afford to spend billions on a wastefull exercise, law abiding citizens registering fire arms is some how a good thing and worth $billions? And we turn our backs to a soldier who put his life on the line for all of us, even those who have the right and the power to push this gun registry down our throats! Something is not right and I am glad this article is helping bring this issue to the attention of the public and hopefully those politicians and public servants who can step in and stop it.Thanks for letting me rant,
