Veterans Discuss World Affairs

Saudia Disgraceful Conduct (again)

Folks,  I have just returned from a wonderful weekend of meeting, greeting and hugging old friends and ne friends. Many of these fellas who are looking a wee bit older in some instances and as "Dick Clark" in other who have defied nature by never aging well done guys.

As with all reunions of Veterans from any era the current affairs of the Canadian Military and the world are discussed, dissected and opinions shared.

In an unofficial poll the majority are happy that our combat role has been decreased in Afghanistan. many of the men polled have served in Arab countries and African countries as UN forces. All agreed that NATO Allies have wasted so much money after watching the Russians try to defeat the Afghan Insurgents for a decade.

As for Libya the poll was probably 50/50  primarily because in theory our Air personnel and Naval personel are are out reach by Gadaffi assets. However  most agreed that we should not be wasting  military spending there at all.

So much for the toughts of Veterans. Today we see that the Admiral in charge of Irans Navy  Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari  states that Irans Naval presence will be felt of the shores of the USA.

Does this mean that they will be provoking USA with the 12 mile limit. If so heaven help any Iranian Ship who strays into official US Territorial waters. That is a ridiculous threat from a third world Arab.

In the Arab vein a poor woman in Saudia ( the richest most hypocratic nation on earth) have sentenced a woman who dared to drive a car to TEN LAshes this is a barbaric form of punishment for any crime. But for driving a car,The sooner the WESTERN world understands that as rich as they are Saudia Arabia is a country that demeans women and uses slavery to keep TCN workers tied to their labours.
