This is how it starts unfortunately. In Libya we have air teams stationed in Sardinia operating against Gadaffi. We have the HMCS Vancouver patrolling the Mediterranean off Libya's coast.
NOW we have a few boots on the ground. JTF troops are protecting our embassy staff, as we re open our Embassy in Tripoli.
This sadly to me is a sign that our troops will be in North Africa for another decade. The BBC in one article states that the CIVIL War in Libya is now in its 7th month. I was under the impression that NATO does not get involved in Civil Wars.
On the Afghan Front, al quaida operated frrely for 20 hours in the so called Green Zone of Kabul. Suicide bombers, RPG's and various mortars and rockets were fired at the US Embassy and other Government buildings. Obviously they have inside help. Whom do the allies trust in Afghanistan?
Last but not least on this Wed. Obama has announced his buy america plan. This will definetely impact on CAnadians and their families. I guess that means we are fighting on 3 fronts currently. Afghanistan, Libya and now the business world of our neighbour the good old US of A.
Please give a thought to our troops and their families, as we move into a Canadian Fall and the leaves turn and our temperatures drop.
