First things First:
A Hearty Welcome home today to the crew of HMCS Charlottetown, having been serving NATO since March in the waters off North Africa, Bravo Zulu,
May you all enjoy some leave with families friends and loved ones.
I wonder if this extension in Libya was taken into account by General Leslie when he reported a billion dollars in savings?
Our Chief of Defence Gen. Walt Natynczyk said Thursday that a report outlining how the department of national defence could save $1B annually was bang on and he supports its recommendations.

I shave serious doubts that the Libyan factor was indeed part of this equation.
If this billion dollars in annual savings works, and in fact doe not lead to a reduction in services to our walking wounded nor indeed to any serviceperson. I for one would applaud this initiative of General Leslies.
I have mentioned many times in these past 5 years of Blogging, the devotion and love that Dogs give to us. This story from the USA is a prime example of devotion. A long time past "Greyfriars Bobby" the Scots Border Collie of the early 1900s.
In closing I would like to share this information about some of our Soldier Amputee....Food for Thought

So folks as you plan on a long weekend trip, BBQ or simply enjoying family and friends at home. Please take a moment and think of our Troops who are far away from family and loved ones. Afghanistan, Sardinia and at sea. They will miss the labour day weekend, but they will have loved ones in their hearts and on their mind.
Have a safe wonderful Labour Day week end.
