NATO inching closer to ground troops in Libya

I feel that this is a dangerous venture. The UK is sending 20 Officers to train the Libyan Rebels.

Europe wants to send troops to guard and secure humanitarian aid. Sadly this will evolve expotentially into yet another Iraq or Afghanistan. Canada should not get involved with this boots on the ground initiative. We are overstretched as it is. Our troops need to come home for a long leave and re charging of their batteries. Canada has been in Afghanistan for almost a full decade. This is longer than both the first world war and the second world war combined. Canada cannot afford  to shed any more blood on behalf of the masses who have been fighting tribal wars for Centuries.

Now is the time to increase operations in Canada Command

Formed on Feb. 1, 2006, Canada Command is the Canadian Forces organization responsible for all routine and contingency Canadian Forces operations in Canada and continental North America.

Canada Command is

·         A single point of contact for Canadian civil authorities seeking Canadian Forces support.

·         A single military command for domestic and continental operations.

·         A focus on Canada as a single theatre of operations.

Mission

Canada Command will conduct operations to deter, prevent, preempt, and defeat threats and aggression aimed at Canada, within its area of responsibility. When requested, Canada Command will provide military assistance to civil authorities, including consequence management, in order to protect and defend Canada. Canada Command will be the operational link with U.S. Northern Command.

Defending Canada : One country, one command, one theatre of operations

With the Easter weekend coming up we must as a nation pray for our troops and their families. This prayer came from a Prayer wheel.

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.'
