Training Staff targeted by taliban

Graduation Day

In speaking with other Veterans of the Canadian Military, we all seem to be agreed on one main point.

No country can defeat an enemy who wears the uniform of the Local Army or Police forces. These suicide bombers have wrought destruction on NATO and Afghan police and Army this past 48 hours.

The police Chief in Kandahar was killed after being hugged by an insurgent in a police uniform. Then various suicide attacks killed a total of 8 NATO troops and 4 Afghan Policemen along with various innocent parties.

I really feel that leaving some of our troops and police officers to train Afghans is extremely dangerous for our Canucks.  The use of Sleeper agents within the Afghan Army and Police force is not the thing of Spy Movies. This is a REAL threat to NATO troops involved in training.

What to Do ? ?  I do not profess to have an answer. Sadly neither do our politicians, Iggy and Jack both propose to pull Canadians out of Afghanistan ASAP. And concentrate on peace keeping. Well gentlemen you can get any mote into a peacekeeping role, than training foreign fighters and police to look after their own. But as you may have noticed the latest casualties have not been in a Combat role but in a training role. As for our beleaguered PM and MND they are striving to find an operable solution. They are in discussion with NATO and the Karzai government. We must remember that our troops were originally sent into harms way by the Liberal Government of the day. Not to wax political in this Blog but a secure Conservative Majority is the way forward for our Troops.

As for Libya PM Harper told NATO no further Air Assets until the Libya  Issue can be  debated in our parliament. Some NATO countries are looking for “Boots on the Ground” I for one do not feel that Canada can provide troops on the ground for another senseless Arab/ African war civil or otherwise. Time to think of our own first for a change.

For every one afgan blowing himself up there are five waiting to take his place.I agree with Duke and the rest of the Canadian people. We should not have gone there or even stay there! Now, with the thought of a Majority please god help us.Yes it was the Libs that put us there but it was the Cons that kept us there. There is to much that this Gov does not want to share!Let's not even talk about the F-35.We must wash our hands with this thing going on in afgan.A decade is to long. The people have to stand up sometime!

You hit this issue right on the head my friend. Today Monday Morning headline "Afghan Soldier opens fire inside defence ministry compound" How do we solve this problem or indeed fight this type of warfare. Sad to say it is nigh on impossible. I do agree we need a Strong MAjority Government in Ottawa to guide our troops through the mire of Afghanistan 155 youthful Canadians have died for what?? To allow the taliban to move back in the day troops eventually leave Afghanistan as the Russians did and the Brits did in the past. Bring all of our troops home. We have done our best and given our all. God Bless our Troops.
