Builders hammer visiting Maniacs

The Charlottetown Metro Builders thumped the Montague Down East Auto and Marine Maniacs 7-3 Thursday night.
The Mark's Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey League game was played at Simmons Sport Centre.
Scoring for the Builders (5-11-6-1) were Josh Toombs (2-1), Steve Cassidy (2-1), Alex Abbott (1-1), Shawn Hughes and Mike Waddell. Ryan Chaisson and Dustin Hughes each had two assists.
Colby Bruce (2) and Anthony Cummiskey scored for the Maniacs (7-11-1-0) while Justin Hancock and Aaron Fitzpatrick each had an assist.
The Builders held period leads of 2-0 and 4-2.
Shots on goal were 47-47. Goalies were Chris Chandler (Builders) and Nelson MacAuley (Maniacs).
The teams play tonight in Montague at 8 p.m.
