A complete guide to the 2014 celebrations will hit newsstands on Saturday.
TC Media, which owns The Guardian along with a number of publications throughout the Maritimes, is publishing Celebration: 150 Years in the Making.
A total of 250,000 copies are being published and will be included in newspapers throughout the Maritimes on Saturday, including The Guardian and The Journal Pioneer. The full-colour glossy magazine includes information about a number of big events across P.E.I. this year, including Canada Day, the Celebration Zone at Confederation Landing Park in Charlottetown, a number of music festivals and other outdoor activities.
It also highlights much of the province’s history, culture and culinary talents, and includes information about events not associated with the 2014 celebrations, such as Old Home Week and the Cavendish Beach Music Festival.
“It highlights everything going on in P.E.I. this year,’’ said Penny Walsh McGuire, executive director of P.E.I. 2014 Inc. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with TC Media for the 2014 celebrations.’’
Heather Tedford, director of sales and marketing for TC Media P.E.I., says the magazine showcases the type of work that can be developed by the content and creative teams at The Guardian.
“This publication is a great example of a project that began with a concept and then moved seamlessly through design, printing and distribution,’’ Tedford said.
